I found bunches of Styrofoam hearts in the dollar store's floral section just in time for Valentine's Day.
Materials needed are Styrofoam hearts, Mod Podge, paintbrush, lollipop sticks, hot glue sticks, hot glue gun, and floral foam. You may want to lay down newspaper because the glitter that comes on these hearts gets everywhere. In fact you may want to have the cashier put these in a separate bag because everything in my bag was coated in glitter by the time I got home.
Gently pull the hearts off of the stems. Remove any dried glue from the hole at the bottom of the heart. Add a tiny bit of hot glue to one end of a lollipop stick then gently press it into the hole from the stem on the bottom of the heart. I twist it as I push it in. Next coat the entire heart in Mod Podge to keep the glitter from getting on everything. Poke the heart lollipop's stick into the floral foam to dry.

ReplyDeleteThanks you. I've also seen styrofoam shamrocks, eggs, and bunnies, which would also be cute.
