Model Magic Donut Props

Crayola Model Magic Donut

November 5th is National Donut Day! These Model Magic Donuts are so versatile you can decorate them any way you want. You are only limited by your creativity. If you need inspiration do a Google search and look at the images of real donuts, but don't blame me if you get a craving.

Puffy paint drizzle

Materials needed are Crayola Model Magic, craft paint, puffy paint, Mod Podge, paint brush, water, and parchment paper. Sprinkles optional.

Sprinkles are cut up hair ties

You will need quite a bit of Model Magic to make these. Just how much will depend on how big you want your donuts to be. Be patient and really take your time shaping the donuts; the finished product is worth it! I had to start over multiple times. Roll out the Model Magic like a thick even snake then connect the ends making the donut shape. Smooth the ends using water on your fingers if needed. Slightly squish it down a bit and work with it to get the shape just right. Once you are satisfied let it dry for several days. We let them dry for a week.

Once the donut is completely dry give it several coats of your base color. Let that dry. Then add the frosting using puffy paint. Be generous and make sure to totally fill in the area you want frosting. I used a paintbrush to help spread the puffy paint. I added sprinkles while the puffy paint was still wet. Dry overnight. Add drizzle if you wish and let dry. Mod Podge the entire donut and you are done.
