Miscellaneous Treasure for Tamatoa's shell

We made a whole lot of things to go on Tamatoa's  shell that don't require individual posts. We will include those items here.

Pearls

Gold isn't the only shiny thing that Tamatoa collects. He also has various sized pearls in purple, pink, and white. We painted ping pong balls and different sized styrofoam balls with metallic purple, metallic pink, or metallic pearl paint. They all needed multiple coats of paint.

Shiny Sea Urchin Shells

Materials needed include; fake mini pumpkins, spray paint, string of beads, hot glue gun, and hot glue sticks.

Remove the stem from the pumpkins. Spray paint the  pumpkins and beads. Cut the beads to size and hot glue them to every other section.

Shiny Sea Star

Materials needed include Crayola Model Magic, spray paint, and lots of patience. I followed this tutorial:

Beautiful Craft was more patient than me and theirs looks so much better.

mini treasure chest

We found these opaque treasure chests in Target's dollar section. We painted them gold. If you want it opened to show off treasure inside then paint it with the lid open. I painted mine closed and accidentally peeled paint off when I opened it. They take at least two coats of paint.

We also spray painted various other items to make them shiny.
