Sabrina and I each made a box of chocolates for the Willy Wonka play. These were very fun and surprisingly simple to make. Several friends thought they were real when I sent them a picture.
Materials needed are cake pop size Christmas ornaments, brown paint, puffy paint, mini cupcake liners, a decorative box, shredded craft paper, glue, parchment paper, a towel, and an Xacto knife.
Lay a towel down to prevent the ornament from rolling. Then remove the part of the ornament that connects to the hook and carefully cut the part underneath off with the Xacto knife. Paint them the shade of chocolate that you want. If I were to make these again I would probably set them on lollipop sticks in floral foam to dry. Once dry add a second coat and let dry. Then use puffy paint to add texture and detail. Let it completely dry before moving.
Place the mini cupcake liners in the box in the way that best fits your box and makes sense to you. Once you decide on the placement glue them to the box. Let that dry. Add in the shredded paper around the mini cupcake liners. The last step is to glue the balls into the cupcake liners hole down.
