Colorful Wrapped Candy Props & Tootsie Roll Props

    Colorful Wrapped Candy Props

We followed Simple Kid's Crafts How to Make Fake Candy tutorial. We made ours a bit longer than she did. I was trying to make them look like the Brach's Milk Maid Royals, that I loved as a kid. Our plan was to make enough of these to fill a candy dish to go on Daddy Warbucks' desk, but the Annie play was cancelled due to Covid-19. This was the Sabrina's first time using a hot glue gun.

Materials needed are thick glue sticks, scissors, colorful cellophane, glue gun, and glue sticks that fit your glue gun.

Cut the thick glue sticks to the size you want and we used one as a measurement for the others. We didn't measure the cellophane; we just cut if big enough to wrap our glue sticks in with some left over on each end. Place the cut up glue stick in the center of the cellophane and roll it up. Wrap the ends. Use the hot glue gun to keep the ends wrapped.

Tootsie Roll Props

We used real Tootsie Roll wrappers to make these. Since they were going into a container I did not Mod Podge the wrapper. I would have if actors were handling them just in case of any food allergies.

The Tootsie Roll props are in the container on the bottom right. Sabrina and I worked together to make these.

  1. These remind of Me and my Dads favorite candy. Brachs toffee . He loves the vanilla and mine was butter rum 😋

  2. Awesome, because that's exactly the look I was going for. Super One used to have them in a bulk bin and Mamaw would sometimes get me some.
