Shiny Underwater centerpiece

branching coral

I saved the stalks that the fake pumpkins came on and removed the leaves. I bent the wires in interesting ways and spray painted them gold.

Brain coral

I followed this tutorial: Coral Reef Costume for both the brain coral and sea anemone. I found the stretchy cord to be too hard to use, so I substituted a couple of  kid's jump ropes instead.

Materials needed include foam ball, kiddie jump ropes, hot glue gun. hot glue sticks, scissors, and spray paint.

I cut the handles off of the jump ropes and cut them to various lengths. Then I hot glued them onto the ball with lots of turns and curves. Next I spray painted the whole thing.

sea anemone

Materials needed about 36 pipe cleaners of the same color, cardboard tube, aluminum foil, and possibly spray paint.

I followed the tutorial in the link above except that it did not cut my pipe cleaners. I wrapped one around the middle of my bunch then bent them in half. I fanned them out a bit and spray painted them since I could not find the color I wanted.

feathery leaves

These came with glitter on them so I sprayed Mod Podge to prevent the glitter from falling everywhere.
